What is the meaning of the korean word "jal ga"? The korean word or phrase "jal ga" which is written in hangul as "잘 가" is used to say "please go well". To be more specific, this is a way of saying goodbye to a person you've met. If you are staying on the place of meeting and the person you've met is the one to leave first you can say "jal ga". The counterpart of this is "jal isseo", this time you're supposed to say this to a person who is staying on the place of meeting when you are leaving first.

LEARN WORD NO. 3: GAMSAHAMNIDA (감사합니다) Second to "annyeong haseyo", I believe, "gamsahamnida" is the next most famous korean word. How do we use gamsahamnida? How do we write it? How do we pronounce it? Check this lecture video out! Going back to our lesson on korean vowels and consonants, we know that this word can also be romanized as "kamsahamnida" since the character "ㄱ" giyeok can be interchangeably translated as "g" or "k".  It is also notice-able that the "ㅂ" character on the third syllable (which is 합) is not pronounced as "hab/hap" but is pronounced as "ham". The reason behind this is that, in korean, when the "ㅂ" character is followed by a nieun or "ㄴ" character, it (bieup/ㅂ) becomes a mieum/ㅁ sound. LEARN WORD NO. 5: JEOGIYO (저기요) When we are in a restaurant while we are in South Korea, how do we call the attention of one of their staff? We can use "Jeogiyo".  The word jeogiyo actually means "right here!". It's the same as saying "come here" to tell about your concerns to the waiter or staff. In english, we also use "excuse me" to call the attention of someone, we can also use "jeogiyo" for that same context.  Just take note that "jeogiyo" can be used to say "excuse me" to call the attention of someone but not to address people while passing through.  Let's learn more about "jeogiyo" from this lecture video.
