What is the meaning of the korean word "achim"? The korean word "achim" which is written in hangul as "아침" is the korean term for "morning". So for example you wanted to say "good morning" in korean, you can say "joeun achim-imnida (좋은 아침입니다)". On this example sentence, "joeun" means "good (adjective)", "imnida" means "it is". So the example sentence could be literally translated as "good morning, it is", so we can use this to say "good morning" in korean.

ANNYEONGHI GASEYO (안녕히 가세요)

LEARN WORD NO. 7: ANNYEONGHI GASEYO (안녕히 가세요) We already know how to say "hello" in korean, but how do we say goodbye when we part ways with those we've met? In korean language, there are two given situations of saying goodbye. First one is saying goodbye when you are leaving the place. Second one is saying goodbye when someone is leaving the place and you stayed.  For the second case where you are saying goodbye to a "leaving person", you'll need to use "annyeonghi gaseyo". This is the same as saying "go well".  Next time we'll learn how to say "goodbye" when you are the "leaving person". LEARN WORD NO. 3: GAMSAHAMNIDA (감사합니다) Second to "annyeong haseyo", I believe, "gamsahamnida" is the next most famous korean word. How do we use gamsahamnida? How do we write it? How do we pronounce it? Check this lecture video out! Going back to our lesson on korean vowels and consonants, we know that this word can also be romanized as "kamsahamnida" since the character "ㄱ" giyeok can be interchangeably translated as "g" or "k".  It is also notice-able that the "ㅂ" character on the third syllable (which is 합) is not pronounced as "hab/hap" but is pronounced as "ham". The reason behind this is that, in korean, when the "ㅂ" character is followed by a nieun or "ㄴ" character, it (bieup/ㅂ) becomes a mieum/ㅁ sound.
