IREUM (이름)

LEARN WORD NO. 54: IREUM

IN HANGUL: 이름

What is the meaning of the korean word "ireum"? The korean word "ireum" which is written in hangul as "이름" is the korean term for "name". If you want to ask for someone's name in korean you can say "ireum-i mwoyeyo? (이름이 뭐예요?)". On this example question, "mwoyeyo" is similar to "what is" of the english language. So if we attach "mwoyeyo" to "ireum" it will result to a phrase similar to asking "what is your name?".

To assist you on retaining the meaning of the korean word "ireum" you may check this video lecture.
